YOUTH IN ACTION

2007-2013

Non- formal education - actively involve young people on a voluntary basis and provide them with opportunities to acquire skills and competences outside formal education.

Implementation of the Programme:

1. The European Commission

  • responsible for the running of the Programme;
  • budget, sets priorities, targets, criteria;

2. The National Agencies for Youth in Action:

  • promote and implement the Programme at national level;
  • manage a selection process for project applications to be funded on a decentralized level;

3. Regional Structures

Main aims of the Programme:

  • promote young people's active citizenship;
  • develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people;
  • foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries;
  • promote European cooperation in the youth field;
  • to involve youth with less opportunities in process of non-formal learning.

Who can participate?

  • young people (groups of individuals);
  • youth organizations, youth workers or leaders;
  • other non-profit-making organizations, associations;
  • Public authorities.

Beneficiaries - primarily addressed to young people aged between 13 and 30; participation of at least one of the European Union state.
